Always Faithful

Yesterday President Bush honored a fallen Marine posthumously with the highest award a member of the United States military can receive. The Congressional Medal of Honor. Marine Corporal Jason Dunham earned the reward for saving the lives of several Marines by throwing himself on top of a live grenade. People tend to lose sight of the meaning of some words and phrases and take for granted the sacrifice of others. This man threw himself on top of a fucking grenade knowing full well that his action would most likely be his last but also that it would save his buddies. Wow. This isn't some fucking movie or story in some book, this is real. This man traded his life for someone else's life. You can't buy that kind of devotion. You can't put a price on that kind of sacrifice, loyalty, and courage. This man is another reminder of just how special our country is and how special the men and women who fight to keep it safe for the rest of us are. Thanks Jason, I don't know what else to say. Thanks.
